A large public university needed seasoned expertise to critically assess and make recommendations to maximize the potential for success of a complex, multi-stakeholder National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Innovation Engine preliminary proposal.
UI Collab solution
UI Collab assembled a stellar consultant panel of experts with decades of collective leadership experience—Cynthia Phillips with experience as an NSF evaluator; Joanne Tornow, a former NSF directorate lead; Lilo Portilla, a former NIH program officer; and Lubab Sheet-Davis, an industry innovation pro. They conducted a red team review on a one-week timeline and provided synthesized feedback to optimize the proposal.
Results
The institution’s preliminary proposal received a positive result, and the team was invited to submit a full proposal to NSF.
